Motion Studies: 11 Second Club 2

The second attempt at the 11 second club challenge. Feedback from my first one mainly highlighted that the poses needed to be exaggerated more. Andy also suggested that I work on the framing as well.

I posted my first draft on the 11 second club forum, here's some replies:

thewon88: Hey Emma. Have you tried filming yourself and a friend acting the scene out? I think it would help you a lot. Although doing a rough initial version is necessary, you want to try and show the form of the characters more clearly. I would say that this is probably too rough. You might not want the second character to be a bird, because it will be difficult to get any 'acting' out of the arms. however, if you changed your camera angle so that we only saw the face of this character then that might work.

My Reply:
I acted the main character out but not the second one, i had a little trouble thinking about what i could do with him so changing the camera angle would be a good idea. It is a bit rough as well, i'll have to sort that out. Thanks for your help, i'll try and get a newer version up soon.

If you go and have a look at my work in progress you can see the way i do my roughs. (I'm not saying it's the right way, but it might be something to think about. Il do the body as stick men basically and then the hands properly and the head roughed out as well. This means i can get my ideas down quickly but the most important parts are shown clearly so i get a better idea if it's working or not.

My lecturer like my camera angle so I choose not to change that, and I'm fairly happy with what I've made in flash although I can't seem to tidy it up properly. I also need to animate the bird walking away.
