Luminocity: Installation event

The exhibition day quickly arrived! Getting all the kit and wood to the Fish Factory took a couple of car journeys because we had so much equipment. We were still trying to decide whether to interview members of the audience to get they're reactions but in the end we decided against it. We wanted to make the documentary focused about the work. At the beginning of the day, after unloading we began setting up some of the equipment around the room. The room was still being repainted from the last exhibit so we had to wait quite a while before we could put up the artwork. In some ways this was good because we needed to pop back to collect a few extra bits we had forgotten - like a jug, spare hardrive, breakfast etc. After getting back Nick mapped out the main piece whilst I went around the room, setting up the artwork. We had just enough time to pop out to get some dinner before the start of the event. I had brought some plastic wine cups for the wine but unfortunatley a lot had broken in the post, so we had to use tumblers. The guests started arriving at 7:15pm so there was quite a bit of time before the first showing. A crowd of local artists joined as, along with a lot of other animators from the course. The wine ran out quite quickly! We showed the showing around 8, 8:30, 8:45 and 9pm. Overall we had a really good reaction, and the crowd really enjoyed our work. The venue worked really well with the piece as well, because of the white walls and concrete floor, it really set the atmosphere. There is talk of taking it to bigger venues in Cornwall and Bristol. After the guests had left, Nick and I had a go with filming ourselves being interviewed. Video to follow.
