Pre: Art Development

To try and get the art style right, I've researched Niko Pirosmani and Alfred Wallis. I choose Wallis because apart from being a local artist, he did a lot of work on boats. I looked at Pirosmani because he's got some really nice animal styudies. He was also really useful for character design. Below are my studies of both artists artwork.
