Pre: Character Development

I really enjoy drawing character designs, so I've done quite a lot of this! I've shaped her to look a bit like a bear as fables usually include personified animal characters. Maybe this is to make it more interesting for children to listen to or imagine. I definitly enjoy drawing them! I started by looking into the main character; who i've decided to call 'Jenny'.

 
Then I chose the one I liked the most and created some action shots of her moving and played with a few variations:
 

Next I made my first ever character turn around sheet, I'm quite happy with this one:


 
 Below are colour tests. My art style is 19th Century Naive Art, so this was to see which one fit this the best. (Left to right: photoshop cut out textures, acrylic, watercolour):

 

I think acrylic suits my art style the most, because its the boldest colour.
