Showreel 2014

A showreel of my work throughout my time at Falmouth Uni!

Whilst studying on the Animation and Visual Effects course Emma worked as a producer on two major projects; Crocodile Tears and Luminocity. In her free time she also helps co-run a projection mapping group called Twisted Vision, and creates motion graphics for stage designs at music events in and around Cornwall.

Crocodile Tears
Winner of the Royal Television Society Undergraduate Animation Award at the Student Television Awards 2014. A 2D animated short film about two crocodile con-artists who use sympathy to trick people out their money. Director: Darren Smith. Producer: Emma Walsh.

Luminocity:
A documentary following the development of a projection mapping installation which took place at the Fish Factory, Falmouth. The installation combines various styles of animation (2D, 3D, Live action, Stop motion) to visually explore industrialisation whilst being projected onto a city scape model.
Director: Nick Turner. Producer: Emma Walsh. Art Director / Motion Graphics: Freddie Horton. Motion Graphics: Ben Knights. Colour Grader: Toby Ellis. Set Builder: Chris Wootton.

Masked Ball Visuals

This autumn The Masked Ball gave Laurence and I the opportunity to create an installation in one of the ride exhibits. The venue was a large Geo-dome, with a track roller coaster on the inside, we projected onto the inside of the dome. Below are some visuals I made that were incorporated into a scary edit that would be played alongside the ride.

Editing: Lister Hill Timelapse

Experimentation into long exposure photography, and then repeated over a set amount of time. The first video is evidence of the timelapse, and then the second video is it edited to music.

Twisted Vision: Fascinate

We worked with Ian Biscoe this year at Falmouth's Fascinate arts festival. Using 3 powerful projectors we helped light up three buildings in the centre of Falmouth. It was a lovely opportunity to meet other visual artists from around Europe.

Twisted Vision: Boomtown 2014

We had the pleasure of working at Boomtown festival this year, mixing live visuals in the Boomtown Bobbies venue situated in Old Town. We worked with the Skank and Stomp crew from Falmouth, and I created some visuals to match the policemen venue theme.

Luminocity and Crocodile Tears both made it through to Pixelate film festival. They were screened at The Poly; a local theatre in the centre of Falmouth.

Twisted Vision: The Garden Party

I had the pleasure of providing visuals with Nick and Laurence at the Garden Party last Saturday. As well as creating custom visuals we also worked closely with 'Impact' the events and lighting team. Impact built the stage for us and using the designs we were all offered the opportunity to create visual clips to interact with the stage. As well as playing the last hour set, I was also impressed to find out that A.Skillz was headling! I also found the gig slightly emotional as it marked the end of my time studying at Falmouth Uni. I attended the Garden Party in my first year and now I have the opportunity to make it better, by providing visuals.
