Showreel 2014

A showreel of my work throughout my time at Falmouth Uni!

Whilst studying on the Animation and Visual Effects course Emma worked as a producer on two major projects; Crocodile Tears and Luminocity. In her free time she also helps co-run a projection mapping group called Twisted Vision, and creates motion graphics for stage designs at music events in and around Cornwall.

Crocodile Tears
Winner of the Royal Television Society Undergraduate Animation Award at the Student Television Awards 2014. A 2D animated short film about two crocodile con-artists who use sympathy to trick people out their money. Director: Darren Smith. Producer: Emma Walsh.

Luminocity:
A documentary following the development of a projection mapping installation which took place at the Fish Factory, Falmouth. The installation combines various styles of animation (2D, 3D, Live action, Stop motion) to visually explore industrialisation whilst being projected onto a city scape model.
Director: Nick Turner. Producer: Emma Walsh. Art Director / Motion Graphics: Freddie Horton. Motion Graphics: Ben Knights. Colour Grader: Toby Ellis. Set Builder: Chris Wootton.

Red or Dead: Final Video

The final video for my Red or Dead project. I'm really happy with how it all turned out and I got on really well with all my team mates. It would be wonderful to work with them again in the future.

Red or Dead: Rotoscoping Deer

I rotoscoped a deer's head, which was sucsessfully placed onto the actors body for my Red or Dead project.

Red or Dead: Rotoscoping Loin

My attempt at rotoscoping a loin's head to put onto the head of an actor. It didn't get used in the end because the fur kept moving around and it didn't look brilliant.

Red or Dead: Green Screen Filming

The filming today went really well, had to change the lighting a little bit because of the shadows on the green screen. The actors where great and if anything we had too many!

Red or Dead: Producing Work

I find it quite hard to documment my producing work. I've been sorting out the booking for the Television Studio to film actors on green screen. This Included creating a flyer advertising for actors;  I've had 4 responses - 2 of which are coming tomorrow; which is very exciting! The rest of the actors will be my friends and colleagues. I've also looked into booking the equipment out, which has been a bit of a nightmare with studios and cameras being booked up for everyones final projects. I've also sorted out risk assessments, floor plans and actor release forms.

Red or Dead: Nuke Tutorials

To help me learn rotoscoping i've looked into a few tutorials about Nuke. I found it easy to get on with and haven't really had a problem. I quite like the rotoscoping, its knowning which type of nodes to use which I find a bit harder to get my head around. Anyway, enjoy these screan grabs:

Red or Dead: Concept Pieces

Next up I was asked to create some concept pieces of work to put into our pitch that we sent off to the red or dead company.

Th ideas are: Houses with mouth, pick and mix people and the before and after shots of the city.

Red or Dead: Mood boards

For Red or Dead I have begun looking into their fashion style and history by creating some mood boards. Our theme is Space Baby.
