Showreel 2014

A showreel of my work throughout my time at Falmouth Uni!

Whilst studying on the Animation and Visual Effects course Emma worked as a producer on two major projects; Crocodile Tears and Luminocity. In her free time she also helps co-run a projection mapping group called Twisted Vision, and creates motion graphics for stage designs at music events in and around Cornwall.

Crocodile Tears
Winner of the Royal Television Society Undergraduate Animation Award at the Student Television Awards 2014. A 2D animated short film about two crocodile con-artists who use sympathy to trick people out their money. Director: Darren Smith. Producer: Emma Walsh.

Luminocity:
A documentary following the development of a projection mapping installation which took place at the Fish Factory, Falmouth. The installation combines various styles of animation (2D, 3D, Live action, Stop motion) to visually explore industrialisation whilst being projected onto a city scape model.
Director: Nick Turner. Producer: Emma Walsh. Art Director / Motion Graphics: Freddie Horton. Motion Graphics: Ben Knights. Colour Grader: Toby Ellis. Set Builder: Chris Wootton.

Chicken Fox: Title Sequence

After completing the props I was asked to make the title sequence which goes at the end of the animation. This was using After Effects, which I'm not that confident in yet but I feel doing this has really helped. This is the first version, it will probably be updated for the final version of the film. I feel the timing could be update on this version.

Chicken fox: Moving Props

Some of the props needed to be moving so I've made them into GIFs to demonstrate the animation.

Chicken Fox: Props

I started making the props to go in and accompany the animation. I'm quite happy with the outcome.

Chicken Fox: Backgrounds

We were asked to work on third year animation projects, and I have been helping out with Chicken Fox. A 2D animation using Cel Action directed and produced by Lana Okhrits. Here is the link to the chicken fox blog: http://animatorie.blogspot.co.uk/

I started helping out by creating some backgrounds. Lana taught me how to use the clipping mask tool in Photoshop and once I got the hang of it it worked out really nicely.

Here are the different verisons of backgrounds 3 and 4 I created. The first one is very basic because I was just getting used to the tools. I advanced by using the grass paint brish tool to help blend the shapes and also using the dodge and burn tools to add shading. After I created these backgrounds I passed them onto Freddie Horton who added the approapriate lighting and adjustments.
